Recently, I've been very inspired by the UK based portrait artist, Lucy Pass. I found her on Instagram and she has quickly become one of my favorite. She paints portraits but considers herself an “anti-portrait” artist. She paints using her own visual understanding because she does not personally know her subjects. The portraits are typically interrupted by energetic marks, adding an exciting element to the unfinished-style paintings. Her work is created out of her initial judgment, and the incomplete look allows the viewer to fill in the blank and make their own judgments.
If you haven't heard of her, I encourage you to take a look at some of her stuff.
Her Instagram handle is @lucy.pass.artist or you can check out her website https://www.lucy-pass.com/
