Experimenting
This semester I have been trying to experiment more with my style to figure out what I like best. What process I enjoy most and what finished products I'm most proud of. I've used the first two projects in studio as a comparison.

For the first, I focused on shapes and less specificity. I referenced an old photo of my older sister, Alicia, and myself in a pile of leaves. It's one of my favorite photos, but I wanted to make it more general to see if others could feel the sentiment without the detail.

The second project is a more typical portrait. I plan to abstract it by painting on a blank piece of canvas and laying it on top of the portrait to transfer the paint. This will make the abstraction random, possibly covering up most of the portrait, leaving the viewer to fill in the missing features.
